Illinois District of American Turners

Welcome to ITC 2025!

Hello Turner Campers,
The 2025 season is upon us. Cory and Donna Litza have finalized the calendar and events.
Nicole Sandine and the Youth committee have finished all the interviews and have extended
offers to our staff. Ashley has the work schedule ready to go.
.
Tom Turner and the Buildings and grounds crew have been busy clearing overgrowth along the
creek sides by the Rathskeller in the off season.

When you first come to camp you will notice a fresh look at the front entrance. All the buckthorn
and weed trees, concrete and scrap steel has been cleaned up. The two old Oak Trees and the
Pine are not in healthy condition. We have trimmed all the dead branches, but it is just a matter
of time. It is time to replant the front and if anyone is interested and willing to help, please
contact Tom Turner.

Our team with Dave Coss has been aggressively identifying and prioritizing projects, both short
and long term. Building and grounds have recommended items that have been before the
District Council. The Rathskeller windows have arrived, and installation has begun. The pool
doors have arrived, and installation will star soon. Bathhouse roof replacement, done! Up next
Weber bathroom roof is scheduled for replacement.

The camp committee chairs have identified areas of opportunity to increase our food and
beverage sales, especially on the holiday weekends. Dan Becker has taken the lead on the
Memorial Day weekend with live entertainment, bags, and disc golf tournament. We strongly
encourage your attendance and bring a friend!

Looking into the future, a large majority of your District Council and Camp Committee members
are up there in seniority. We would like to see the future, your future at Illinois Turner Camp.
Dan Becker has suggested the idea of a couple of scheduled town hall meetings one weeknight
at the Rathskeller, no agenda roundtable discussion questions and answers.

Parking will be enforced so please be conscience of the time your car is parked at your cottage.
Cottage owners, you are responsible for the tidiness around your cottage, and between you and
your neighbor. If your neighborhood gets together to clean up, we would be happy to get the
dump truck and tractor or tools to assist.

Let us have a fabulous and fun season!

WTG,
Kurt Potthast
Illinois District President
