The Illinois District of the American Turners is incorporated under the laws of the State of Illinois as an educational institution, organized not for profit. The Illinois District is one of 13 Districts, located throughout the United States, that are currently affiliated with the American Turners, Inc., whose Principles and Statutes the Illinois District is obligated to conform to in pursuit of its objectives. Currently there are five local Turner organizations that are affiliated with the Illinois District.
The Primary objectives of the Illinois District and the American Turners, Inc. are to develop and promote:

A planned program of health and physical education for the development of a sound body.

A planned program of cultural education for the development of a sound mind.

A planned recreational and social program for all members of the family group.

And to participate in all worthy civic projects, both Local and National.
